Nicole ignored the trends toward winter sports in her hometown of Winnipeg in the Canadian Province of Manitoba, and took her talents to the track world. It was a good choice because she went on to become one of the most decorated student athletes in the University of Michigan Track and Field history earning All America status 12 times. She set NCAA collegiate records in both the 4x800 meters, and 4x1500 meter relays.
Following college Nicole continued to lower her personal bests, running 4:06.34 in the 1500, during the 2010 season. That same year Nicole placed 2nd at the Continental Cup, and 5th in the Commonwealth Games. In 2012 the consistent improvement continued, as Nicole ran the A standard of 4:04.74 to qualify for her first Olympic Games, where she made the semi-final representing Canada. Nicole trains in Michigan where she lives with her husband Antonio. When not out pounding the pavement, she’s usually slaving over a hot stove as baking is a favorite hobby of hers!
